Thirteen years ago, at a summer kickback at Georgia Southern, Myka and Jerome met for the first time. Myka’s laughter was infectious, and she playfully called him "Jamal Malik". Even as life took them in different directions, they kept up with each other over the years through lighthearted social media messages.

One day, Myka posted an Instagram story asking if anyone would like to join her for the Bridgerton Experience in Atlanta. Jerome quickly offered, but, unfortunately, a miscommunication led to Myka standing him up that September in 2022. Despite this letdown, Jerome wasn’t ready to let their connection slip away. He reached out again, this time with a message full of understanding and forgiveness, and that gesture sparked something new between them.

As the leaves turned and fall set in, their friendship began to blossom into something deeper. Myka hopped on a flight to Pensacola to visit Jerome, and on November 2, 2022, they had their first real date at George’s Bistro and Bar. They laughed, shared stories, and felt a chemistry that only grew stronger with each passing day.

Over the next few months, as they got to know each other’s families and friends, their love deepened. Seeing the support from their loved ones made them appreciate each other even more, and they realized they had something that could stand the test of time. By December 2023, they were ready for the next chapter, moving to Northern Colorado together to start a new adventure.

Then, on a chilly evening on February 17, 2024, with the Rockies as their backdrop, Jerome dropped to one knee and asked Myka to spend her life with him. Overwhelmed with happiness, Myka said yes, and they embraced, knowing this was only the beginning of their journey together.
